The Sunia Geel 2 domestic violence project has been running since March 2013. In August we held focus groups with women and young people. Approximately five to six women/young people attended each group.
These groups proved to be a great success with everyone contributing to the discussion. As the project continues there will be further training and group work. These focus groups have provided us with information that will help us develop programmes to respond to domestic violence. In August we also completed research interviews with sixty service users. The results will be compiled together with those from our partner countries to create a cross cultural comparison. In Exchange House we are currently busy preparing for the second partner meeting which will take place from 3rd-7th October in Palermo, Sicily. Staff from the five project partners (Ireland, Romania, Austria, and Germany & Sicily) will meet for four working days.
